4th Annual Delaware County Hunger Conference - CEU's Available for Social Workers,Nurses

The following information was taken from the Penn State Extension Website. Comfort Keepers, will be on hand to explain the Stop Senior Hunger campaign which collects dry foods and canned goods for low income seniors. Here is information the event:

Join us for a day of learning and inspiration by attending the 2012 Delaware County Conference on Hunger as we work on Connecting Communities, Applying Resources and Advocating to Decrease Hunger in Delaware County. In its fourth year, this conference is being planned by a group of agencies and individuals who are concerned with hunger in our community. This year information will be presented on how to find hunger resources in Delaware County, how to eat healthy with limited resources, advocacy, how to start a food cupboard and how to garden in an urban environment. Delaware County is part of the First Congressional District where hunger issues rank second in the United States! Come network and learn how to help in your neighborhood. Key speakers include Marina Barnett, DSW of Widener University, Dr. George K. Avetian, DO, Senior Medical Advisor of Delaware County, Ellen Teller, Esq. of the Food Research & Action Center, Sharon Ward of the PA Budget & Policy Center and Julie Zaebst, MSS, MLSP of the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger. Afternoon sessions will allow participants to explore topics in small groups and network with those of similar interests.
