Bring the Grandkids to Delaware County Fair June 7, 2011 to June 12, 2011

Looking for something to do with the grandkids next weekend? Why not come out to the Delco County Fair at Granite Run Mall. The fair is a terrific event that I have attended in the past and is for a good cause. I know many of the Glen Riddle Rotary members and I can tell you first hand they are always willing to help out and volunteer to help a good cause.

In case you missed the article in the Daily Times, Bettie Alburger wrote the following:

MIDDLETOWN — The 35th annual Delaware County Fair has a new location this year — on the grounds of Granite Run Mall on Baltimore Pike– and the family fun from June7-12 will be better than ever, thanks to new amusement rides and new features.

The fundraising tradition in the county that began in 1976 is presented by Glen Riddle and Concordville-Chadds Ford Rotary Clubs.

In its long history, the fair has raised more than $500,000 to benefit Delaware County children and their families though organizations such as CADES (Children and Adult Disability Education Services), scholarships and other local charities.

It’s also provided a special night of fun for children and adults with disabilities. Wednesday, June 8, from 6-10 p.m., is set aside as Special KIDS Night, when all ages with special needs have the event all to themselves and can enjoy free rides all night. In the past, more than 750 individuals arrived early and stayed late to experience all the fun of the fair.

Everyone is invited to enjoy the fair’s rides, games and food from 6-10 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, June 7, 9 and 10. Fair hours are noon-10 p.m. Saturday, June 11, and noon-6 p.m. Sunday, June 12.
