Where can I donate food in Delaware County, PA?

Sometimes when seniors decide to downsize and clean out, they are looking for donation sites for food, clothing and other items. Often I get calls from people asking where can I donate canned good and dry foods or clothing?

You can donate canned goods and dry foods to several places in Delaware County, PA. If you want your unopened and unexpired food to go to other senior citizens you can donate it to Stop Senior Hunger, a local initiative run by Comfort Keepers in Springfield. To read more about Stop Senior Hunger and locations click HERE. If you would like your food to go to families, parents with children, single adults and/or seniors, you can take it to Loaves and Fishes in Prospect Park or to City Team Ministries in Chester.

For clothing and household items, Goodwill is always available to take your donations. There is a site in Chichester in Willowbrook Shopping Center and there is a second one on 202. The one on 202 is larger and easier to drop off items to. For more information on hours and locations, click HERE.

Of course there other options like Purple Heart that will come to your home and pick up the items. The only obstacle is they come to pick it up on certain days and times so you have to wait.

I hope you decide to donate some of your items. There are so many people today who are in need of food, clothing and other things.
